I have so much I want to post but I had to write this quickly before I forgot about it. Last night I wake up to hear Jansen (my only child who doesn't wake up multiple times during the night) crying in bed for maybe 20 minutes. I feel so bad b/c we couldn't find his blanket and this was the 2nd night he was sleeping without it. Jake had already scoured our home for Jansen's blanket, then I searched everywhere for it too. (our house is NOT that big), and we were hoping it would just turn up, it didn't. So I decide to go in there and lay next to him.
Well one HOUR later, Jansen is still taking my hand requesting me to rub his back or arm and I'm so tired. Every time I sit up, to try and sneak out, Jansen takes his tiny arms and quickly wraps them around my neck and pulls me back down next to him. It's so cute, just melts your heart. I realize he is not going to go back to sleep anytime soon. SO... I decided I needed that blanket so Jansen (and I) could sleep. I said a little prayer asking Heavenly Father to help me find that blanket. Jansen gets up and turns on his bedroom light, I open the door, and Jansen leads me to the kitchen of course wanting to eat and I see the bookshelf it was behind last time we lost it and think duh! Well it's not there and I just sit down and there it is on top up a bunch of books under the bakers rack.
I showed it to Jansen who got the biggest smile, hugged it and ran straight to bed where I tucked him in and left him snuggled up for the night. I'm sure miracles like this happen all the time, but I really needed it last night. I know Heavenly Father hears my prayers.
Love the title of this post, you crack me up! Anyway, thank goodness for prayer! I think we would DIE if Cohen lost his "cozy", so I"m so glad Jansen's blanket is back. And I wish I could come take your kids so you can have a NAP! I always feel sleep deprived, but after hearing that Reesa wakes up multiple times in the night, and that Mitchell only sleeps 1-4 hours at a time, I feel lucky with the amount of sleep I get!
ReplyDeleteHow did Mitchell's photo shoot go?
What an awesome story, Kellie! Thanks so much for sharing the little miracles.

glad you wrote that down! we had nolan in our bed last night for about 3 hours before i was able to sneak him back to his crib. it is really cute when they want to snuggle you...but not always at 3am when you're sooo tired!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing. That is so sweet! You guys need to have a "back-up" blanket! Love you!
ReplyDeleteAAAAWWWWW!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo NOT cheesy! And isn't it just fabulous when you know that the Lord is looking out for you-even in something as small (or BIG for a toddler) as a blanky! You are wonderful and I'm so glad that u found it! Luv u guys!
ReplyDeleteI love Cheesy. I'm all about cheese. My kids were not great sleepers als, until I found the sound machine.Have you tried one? We have one in every kids room and they sleep way better. They don't hear a sound. Chad and I have one. It plays a rainfall sound all night. Half the time we wake up and think its raining outside! Your a good Mom Kellie. I usually don't find snuggling cute at 3 am! I knew when I lived in Beeville with you that you were going to make an awesome wife and mother! You were born to do this. keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteNot cheesy at all Kellie!! Addysen has 2 "tutus". One that Aunt Jeanne sent her and the other exactly the same blanket in a different color from a friend. She doesn't go far without one or both of them. I can totally relate to your story!!! So happy you found it!
