Our poor little Mitchy can't buy a break. He can't seem to stay healthy. Well... 2010 he did NOT stay at the hospital over night ONCE.
Reesa was such a trooper. She missed her school field trip to go to the hospital with Mitchy and me. So today I finally broke down and got her a pillow pet from Mitchell to say thanks!!!
They gave Mitchell a bunch of steroids, antibiotics, breathing treatments and put him on Oxygen. He's doing so much better. They gave us lots of meds to come home with and Mitchell came home this afternoon on room air! We're so lucky really that this happened over the weekend when Jake wasn't working and that Jennifer, (bless her heart) drove all the way down to Fresno to pick up Reesa (and brought me a bag of goodies and books) and took Reesa and Jansen for the day. Thanks, we love you guys!
P.S. I don't even want to admit this, but I made Jake come down and stay the night with Mitchell and I went home to be with #1 & #2. I was SO irritated by everything every nurse, doctor, assistant, secretary said to me I couldn't stand it anymore! Today, Jake told me how he refused treatments when Mitchell was asleep, told them no to IV antibiotics, since we can NEVER get an IV on that kid. (I tried to say no, but my Dr. said they had to at least try 3 times. WHAT!?! see why I was irritated?) I was so grateful for an amazingly smart husband who knows way too much, about things he has no business knowing, and fights for our kids! Thanks Jake!
Pneumonia! Poor Mitchell! But you guys are ALL such troopers. That picture of Reesa with him is so sweet! i'm glad he's feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear he's doing better and that he's home with you guys! We've been praying for him a ton over here. Poor guy! He really is such a trooper! You really are a super mom, kellie! I don't know how you do it! :)
ReplyDeletePoor Mitchell! But yay for Jake!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry he got sick. I'm glad you have help and that he is doing better. Glad Jake is a great guy too!
ReplyDeletePoor Mitchy. He is a tough kid. Jake is so good at getting people to listen to him. WE are wimps! Beckhem kept repeatedly asking us to say a "prayer for Mitchy". Even after we had just said one, he asked to say another one. So we said 3 prayers during breakfast. He loves Mitchy so much, and worries about him. Hang in there, you guys are such strong parents. Love ya!
ReplyDeletePoor thing! We are so thankful that he is doing better! We love him:) You guys are so strong and your children are SO lucky to have you guys as their parents! Yeah, Reesa finally got her pillow pet!!!!! I bet she is in heaven:)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your little guy! Your family is truly amazing and inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI am so grateful he is home. I just love that little boy so much. Sometimes it makes me sad how unfair things are for him. He is so extra special and loved by so many. He has a special place in my heart. You and Jake are awesome. It is hard to be so vulnerable to doctors. You hate them and love them so much. Hang in there guys, we continue to pray for you.
ReplyDeleteAww! Poor little guy. You and your family are amazing. Mitch sounds like such a little trooper! I hope he starts doing better.
ReplyDeleteYou are raising a Saint and a Soldier. You are both blessed to be a part of his incredible journey and you are both doing an amazing job. We love you and will do all we can to help. Love, Mom
ReplyDeleteYowser, Kellie! He is going to be one tough dude, and you are one dedicated mom! I love your Disneyland and Yosemite pictures, too, you are still sooo pretty. Love ya, I hope he is out soon. Tell the Doctors to stuff it!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry! What a lot you've been through. Hope he makes a smooth recovery. Hang in there! you are great.
